Meandering through town...

On Sunday a few of us went out for a photo shoot...The town Blake and Christine live in has a bunch of old, cool looking buildings...
Ok...I think this may be my favorite picture from the whole day!!! He didn't even give me enough time to adjust my camera settings before he wrecked!!!
 Tripods are great!!! =)

Not Perfect...But Better...

I guess I will start with a before and after picture...
This little stool came from my great-grandma. I really liked it, but it was rather dingy looking and feeling...I have been meaning to reupholster it for a while now, but I only got around to actually doing it the other day.
All I did was take the many little staples out to removed the fabric...
Laid the old fabric to the new-ish piece that I found at the thrift store...
There were holes through the foam from where the button thingy went through, but I didn't want to cover new ones...so I just put batting in them...
Though there are no pictures...I made a short ruffle out of some other fabric I had sitting around.
Then placed the fabric over the foam and stapled...
And viola!

Potato Pancakes...

 It always makes me happy when I can actually make food that tastes good!!! The other day I found a recipe for Potato Pancakes, I thought they looked good, so I tried making them...I'd say they turned out rather well!!! And they are extremely easy to make!
 The recipe (my slightly changed version):
2 Large Potatoes
A teensy bit of Onion (=P)
1 Egg
Almost 2 TBSP Flour, and about 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
Salt and Pepper
Butter for frying
~~~
Peel and grate potatoes into large bowl. Remove excess moisture from potato by firmly squeezing handfuls of grated potato over kitchen sink.
Add grated onion, egg, flour, baking powder, pepper and salt to the potato and stir well to combine.
Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Drop about 1/4-1/2 cup of mixture into pan and flatten slightly.
Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden and cooked through.
Drain pancakes on paper towel and serve. Best right off the pan!!!
